Faculty Panel User Guide

The Faculty Panel provides teachers and professors with tools to manage their courses, mark attendance, and record student grades.

Access Information
URL: /faculty
Authorized Users: Teachers, Professors (Faculty user type)

Dashboard

Upon login, you'll see your personalized Faculty Dashboard with three main widgets:

Faculty Stats Widget
  • Total Courses assigned to you
  • Total Students across all courses
Today's Classes Widget
  • Course name
  • Time slot
  • Room number
  • Class type (Lecture/Tutorial/Lab)
Recent Attendance Widget
  • Date marked
  • Course
  • Attendance summary

My Courses

View all courses assigned to you for the current semester.

Viewing Your Courses

  1. Click My Courses in the sidebar
  2. See the list with:
    • Course Name
    • Course Code
    • Section
    • Semester
    • Enrolled Students count
    • Room Number

Course Details

Click on any course to view:

  • Course information
  • Enrolled students list
  • Timetable entries
  • Associated exams

Attendance Management

Mark and track student attendance for your courses.

Marking Attendance

Method 1: From Dashboard

  1. Find today's class in the "Today's Classes" widget
  2. Click Mark Attendance button
  3. Proceed to mark attendance

Method 2: From Attendance Menu

Click Attendance in sidebar
Navigate to the Attendance section
Click Create New
Opens the attendance form
Fill in the details
  • Course Offering: Select your course
  • Date: Select the class date
  • Student: Select student
  • Status: Present, Absent, Late, Excused
  • Remarks: Optional notes
Click Create
Attendance record is saved

Attendance Percentage Calculation

Formula
Attendance % = (Present + Late) / Total Classes × 100

75% is typically the minimum required attendance. Students below threshold are flagged automatically.

Exam Results

Record and manage exam results for your courses.

Recording Results

Click Exam Results in sidebar
Navigate to the Exam Results section
Click Create New
Opens the result entry form
Fill in the details
  • Exam: Select the exam (created by admin)
  • Student: Select enrolled student
  • Marks Obtained: Enter the score
  • Remarks: Optional feedback
Click Create
Result is saved

Result Entry Workflow

Recommended Workflow
  1. After grading papers, sort by student roll number
  2. Go to Exam ResultsCreate New
  3. Select the exam
  4. Enter marks for first student
  5. Save and create next record
  6. Repeat until all results entered

Best Practices

Attendance

  • Mark attendance at the beginning of each class
  • Be consistent with Late vs. Absent classification
  • Document reasons for Excused absences
  • Review attendance weekly to identify at-risk students

Exam Results

  • Double-check marks before entering
  • Enter results promptly after grading
  • Add constructive remarks for struggling students
  • Verify total marks calculation

Common Tasks

Daily Workflow

  1. Log in to Faculty Panel
  2. Check Today's Classes widget
  3. Mark attendance for each class
  4. Review any pending result entries

Weekly Workflow

  1. Review attendance percentages
  2. Identify students below 75% threshold
  3. Enter any pending quiz/assignment results
  4. Check upcoming exams

End of Semester

  1. Enter all remaining exam results
  2. Verify all attendance is recorded
  3. Review grades before publication
  4. Submit final grades to administration

Troubleshooting

IssueSolution
"Course not found" Verify you're assigned to the course for this semester. Contact admin to check course offering assignment.
"Cannot mark attendance" Ensure enrollment records exist for students. Check that course offering is for current semester.
"Exam not visible" Exams are created by administrators. Contact admin to create the exam record.
"Student not in list" Student may not be enrolled in your course. Check enrollment status with administration.
